Casa Velha Red

The best grapes were hand selected to create this wine that transports the complex freshness of Douro’s high slopes all in one bottle. A great week day option with a Vegan stamp. The traditional Douro grapes for this wine are in an altitude between 300 & 450 metres to benefit from the warmness of the schist valley. It ferments in stainless vats with malolactic fermentation followed by a short period of old oak barrels ageing, rounding it beautifully, keeping it fresh. Tradition says.... “Bags” of aromatics in Douro blends. You won’t be disappointed with this wine. The liquorish, blueberries, plums & medley of ripe dark berries, coming all in one sense. On the palate it has a good structure & lively acidity opening your taste buds. Not only fresh red fruit but also fresh spices that develops into a freshness of liquorish. Clean, fresh, well balanced & appealing tannins. A great value for money wine! Food Pairing: Easy wine to enjoy with friends & really food friendly as well. Think of tomato/pepper sauces, grilled options, cheeses & even some wine & cinnamon steamed plums & pears. Suggestions: Drink at 12-13°C.
