Adega MayorRui Nabeiro’s old dream has come to life through a work by Siza Vieira, one of Portugal’s most prestigious architects. Adega Mayor surprises the plains of Alentejo with its imposing minimalist white building, the first winery designed by a renowned architect in Portugal. The entire production processes happen here: grape processing, wine making and storage. Its proximity to the São Mamede Mountain, the granitic soils and temperate climate contribute to the unique character of its wines. Wines with their own personality, fresh, balanced and elegant, the result of a manual and devoted harvest.

Bodegas Riojanas S.AIn 1889, the Gold Medal obtained by a Bodegas Riojanas wine at the Universal Exposition of Barcelona prompted the Frías-Artacho families to build their Cenicero winery, which was inaugurated in 1890. This marked the beginning of a winemaking saga which has preserved all of its essence over the years, making Bodegas Riojanas one of the eight wineries in La Rioja that date back over a century.
The Frías Artacho family has transmitted its great passion for growing grapes and ageing wines from one generation to the next. It is deeply committed to quality and upholding the unmistakable personality of such emblematic brands as Monte Real and Viña Albina, which the Bodegas Riojanas team consider their most precious heritage.
Passion for viticulture and sustainable respect for nature have been at the heart of Bodegas Riojanas’ philosophy since its foundation. Their commitment to the quality of their wines has always been based on the conviction that only a sustainable activity that preserves their vineyards and the environment as well as the wellbeing and development of their community, is the guarantee for their own future preservation. As a result of this strategy, Bodegas Riojanas receives the certification “Wineries for Climate Protection,” a seal for the outstanding work on the four pillars on which the Wineries for Climate Protection certification is based: the reduction of the carbon footprint, energy efficiency, efficient water management and waste reduction.
Another key factor has been the satisfaction of their customers’ needs and tastes, to which Bodegas Riojanas has adapted with the changing times, thanks to their dynamic impulse. They still do today, for instance, with their new Monte Real Vanguardia range, in addition to original wines from the main denomination of origin where the group has estates: The Viore wines from Rueda and Bierzo, the Peñamonte from Toro, Veiga Naúm Albariño from Rías Baixas, Alacer in Ribera del Duero and Gargalo in Monterrei.
The stabilizing factor in a history of constant change has been the family of owners Frías-Artacho. Santiago Frías has overseen the company since 2009. He is assisted as technical director by the expert Winemaker Emilio Sojo, also a member of the founding family. Under his management, Bodegas Riojanas was chosen BEST WINERY OF THE YEAR MAGNIFICENT AWARDS GUÍA VIVIR EL VINO 2022. Furthermore, Sojo is named BEST RIOJA WINEMAKER by The Drinks Business Magazine's "Master Winemaker Top 100" guide which shortlists the world's best 100 winemakers.

Casa ClaraCasa Clara is a family-run wine producer in Alentejo, south of Portugal. The company is named after Clara Roque do Vale (she was recently awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award alongside with Jancis Robinson MW, here in Portugal).
Casa Clara was founded by Clara and Carlos Roque do Vale with the objective of producing wines of excellence in Alentejo, based on authenticity, quality and sustainability, expressing with great conviction the strong identity of the region.
In 2019, Mariana Roque do Vale joined the Casa Clara project, becoming one of its business partners. Representing a new generation in the family, Mariana's objective is to give continuity to the project her parents implemented, wishing to honour the past and establishing a bridge to the future, adding new layers and directions to a promising reality.
Casa Clara is a certified proud member of the Alentejo Wines Sustainability Program. All our production, be it in vineyard or be it in the cellar, practices a sustainable agriculture. We are progressively implementing a partial migration towards organic farming production systems and renewable energy in our estates.
We have 2 properties at the heart of the Alentejo: Herdade da Capela (in the sub-region of Moura, on the left bank of the Guadiana River) and Quinta de D. Maria (in Serra do Mendro, sub-region of Vidigueira, near Alqueva).
Our logo (the cross), the names and the labels of our main brands (Capela, Monte da Capela and Herdade da Capela) all are inspired by the chapel located in the middle of the vineyards and developed by our winemaker Alexandra Mendes. The brands were created with the size of the locations in mind: Capela (Chapel is the entry level brand), Monte da Capela (The Chapel’s Hill is our mid-range) and Herdade da Capela (Chapel’s Vineyards being the top range).
Sustained by this long wine making tradition, we have recently developed a new brand, Ermo. Ermo winemaking project was created by the winemaker Joana Pinhão and our desired outcome is clear: develop low-intervention wines with a strong identity, both in the vineyards and in the winery, that combine the best of the region's soils, precision viticulture and character oenology.

Casa RelvasCasa Relvas was born from the desire to continue the family’s history; a family that has been living from the land for five generations in two continents. This family project began in 1997 by Alexandre Relvas at “Herdade de São Miguel” in São Miguel de Machede - Redondo, when he saw the similar landscape as his African roots. The passion for Alentejo and respect for its unique and authentic nature led to the first step in this project: the planting of a typical afforestation. But it was in the vineyard, a culture with more than 2000 years of history in the region, that he discovered his true passion.
Our love for celebration drives us to produce wines every day at Casa Relvas. Our mission is to produce quality wines to accompany every moment in life; wines that make a meal, a celebration or a get-together more special; wines that bring back memories of good times.

Heritage of authentic wines from the Ancient Thracian Lowlands Protected Geographical Indication (PGI)The Thracians landed in the Balkan Peninsular 6000 years ago, bringing with them the story of Dionysis the God of Wine, tombs, treasures and ancient grapevines. The thick, dark red beverage was attributed magical properties, thought to heal the body and soul, bringing enchantment and uplifting spirits.
Nowadays, producers within the Thracian Lowlands PGI promote their heritage, winemaking history and unique terroir through a modern interpretation of viticulture and winemaking, producing quality wines while maintaining tradition.
The Thracian Lowlands PGI covers the Southern area of Bulgaria, including the Rose Valley, Sakar, Stuma Valley and South Black Sea regions. The Valleys’ favorable climate cultivates the indigenous flagship variety of the region, Mavrud, known to be a challenging variety to grow.
The other main PGI to note is the continental Danubian Plains, in North Bulgaria, known for indigenous varieties such as Melnik which typically produces powerful aromatic red wines, Rubin which is a cross between Nebbiolo, Syrah and Tamianka (Bulgarian for Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains), Sadanski Misket which produces fresh and citrussy whites and Gamza which is a light bodied crunchy red. The wines are often found as single cuvées or blended with international varieties, such as; Cabernet, Merlot, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
There are a total of 52 PDOs in Bulgaria which make up only 1% of total production.

Vineyard ProductionsOur Masters of Wine work in cellars around the world. We invest in and collaborate with vineyard owners and winemakers to create, produce and distribute artisanal wines that reflect the place of which they are from. For us, everything starts with a vineyard site that is totally unique and has a character of its own, with a story to tell. Winemaking is inherently conservative, built upon generations of repetition or expensively purchased land, vineyards and wineries. With just one harvest for every year of production, it is not an industry that inspires creativity – until now.
