Confit lemon, orange blossom and white lily exude on the nose, nestling amongst ripe apricot, white peach and baked red apple. The palate intensifies, evolving into tarte Tatin, almond croissant and a dusting of crumble, yet maintaining a precise structure, creamy texture and mouth-watering acidity. The finish develops a mineral, chalky quality, nodding to our Hampshire terroir, and the svelte mousse remains persistent and elegant. Incredibly complex and immensely enjoyable.
The fruit of a tailor-made blend, Brut Majeur includes more than 70 crus from all of the Champagne region. This exceptional sourcing makes the most of the terroirs’ richness: Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne, Aube, Vitryat, or even Sézannais. At the time of vinification, 120 individual stainless-steel vats each hosts a specific cru, grape variety and year. This careful handling of the raw material makes it possible to preserve the integrity and personality of each cru, to as to create a blend of an extraordinary diversity.
Produced from a blend of native Portuguese grape varieties – Antao Vaz, Roupeiro & Arinto. Bursting with tropical fruit and a refreshing streak of lime.
A blend of Clairette and Roussanne. Brilliant, light yellow with hint of green. Fine and intense floral aromas, notes of fresh fruits and candied lemon. Nicely rounded and fresh, surprises with its complexity, freshness and lively structure.
Light and bright in appearance. Fresh flavours of grapefruit, green fig and an oyster shell salinity fill the nose. Full bodied and concentrated, the palate is textured with a light acidity and bold minerality. An elevated expression of Sauvignon Blanc. The wine concludes with crisp and long spicy finish.
Inviting aromas of raspberry, red cherry and strawberry underpinned with a delighfully subtle herby, garrigue bush spice. Round and generous on the palate thanks to the ripe, silky tannins and vibrant core of crunchy red and black berry fruit that fuses with generous black pepper on the lingering finish.
The aroma opens with spicy dark cherry and a hint of fresh cinnamon over thyme and a wonderful waft of liquorice. There is a lift of whole bunchy graphite on the nose with depth coming from dark rose petal and a hint of violets. Excellent depth and complexity while showing opulent fruit density. Rich and generous dark cherry fruit entry opening to an expansive and plush texture with layers of spice and subtle earthy notes. The tannin is enveloped in a silk cushion of fruit fullness and reassuring weight. This wine finishes with a fine beam of acidity which brings freshness and vibrance as well as an almost infinite length – true to brief; generous and rewarding.
This multifaceted wine is suited to day to day drinking, easily matched with all foods, full bodied thanks to the blend of the grapes used. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats with temperature controlled through cooling jackets and refining occurs in concrete vats.
Bodegas Roda SELA is a young, strong wine, it has lots of things to tell, but with the fresh voice of youth. Coming from sustainable vineyards. It’s ready to be consumed as soon as it’s released, with a younger aging than its older brothers and with a great bottle aging capacity. An attractive wine to young people that begin to live the passion of the wine world.
The 2014 La Fleur de Bouard has a detailed and quite intense bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and cedar aromas, an attractive floral scent that emerges with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity, lively and crisp in the mouth, although the finish shuts everything down a little early. Therefore, give this Lalande de Pomerol three or four years in bottle to allow those tannins to mellow and just gain the charm of the aromatics
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre. Old vines, a minimum of 25 years. Intense bright purple. Seductive nose of small red fruits, but also coriander and bay leaf. Fresh and silky on the palate, the aromas follow through on to the mouth prolonged by notes of liquorice and spice. Spends nine months maturing in oak.
Deep aromas of spices and citrus with hints of cinnamon. A perfect balance of bitterness, sweetness and acidity with botanical notes An Elegant and versatile Vermouth, Vermut La Gitana is ideal as an aperitif or with dessert. Serve on its own, over ice or as part of a cocktail.
Impenetrable purple-black colour with a narrow magenta rim. Elegant and understated, still youthful and tight, with impressive depth and background. The nose opens with a surge of pure brambly woodland fruit and hints of apricot and prune. Although still relatively closed and austere, it gradually opens up to reveal discreet notes of leather and exotic wood and delicate scents of violet. The full bodied palate is supported by a tight mesh of sinewy tannins and finishes with an assertive 'grip'. The intense dark berry fruit character of the nose re-emerges on the palate, lingering into the long finish. A beautifully harmonious wine, displaying all the fine quality of fruit which marks the Fonseca house style. Hugely pleasurable now but with the potential for further ageing in bottle.
Southern Right is re-defining Pinotage with this intense classically styled, clay-grown wine, packed with complex berry fruit, beautiful tannins and subtle wood spice. Full ripeness and the longer hang-time afforded by cooler sites, combined with the complex, more classic fruit aromas and structure resulting from clay-rich soil, make this wine a highly individual expression of South Africa’s unique grape variety.
The nose is floral with dark plum, violets and hints of clove, cherry and juniper berry. The palate shows juicy sweet lifted fruits with a hint gaminess and creamy vanillin oak character. An elegant and restrained wine with a velvety finish.
