Winegrowers Direct represents quality-driven producers from all major regions of France (with emphasis on the Rhône, the Languedoc and Burgundy) and from Rioja. We work only with growers who strive for top quality in their regions, producing ‘vins de terroir’, wines of character and, essentially, balance. We supply mostly regional wholesalers and independent retailers as well as some of the better mail order companies. As well as wines that we ship and distribute, we represent others which are available ex cellars, especially from the Rhône and Languedoc. We can organise your shipments, and sometimes arrange to group together wines from some of our more specialist producers.
Our extensive range of Rhônes includes all major Northern appellations, and most appellations in the South, including several Châteauneuf-du-Pape domains. Some of our Languedoc growers have organic certification. Our Burgundies extend from the Côte d’Or and Chablis through the Chalonnais and Maconnais to Beaujolais. In some of the regions we have growers from lesser known appellations such as Quincy, Saint-Foy Bordeaux and Montravel, as well as Sancerre, Muscadet and Haut-Medoc. Both our Champagne houses are family-owned with significant vineyard holdings, as is Ugarte in Rioja which has over 110 hectares.
